Bitesize Coaching & Mentoring Clinics
with Brian Lockington
Bitesize Coaching & Mentoring is for anyone who wants to get one thing sorted. It is a safe space for people to think, generate ideas and get unstuck, all within 20 minutes and for the price of a meal out.
Bring one thing to the (on-line) session,
Leave with your best next move clear,
Book another session if you want more!
Often people just need a nudge from a coach to help them make a breakthrough. It’s so good to see someone smile again, to read their feedback and then to hear the stories of what happened next! Read what people say here
Clarity + Awareness = Better Decisions
“It’s such a relief to have talked to you tonight. Really, really helpful!!” – Elaine (Manager)

Why is the session only 20 minutes?
These bitesize coaching & mentoring sessions are deliberately 20 minutes in length and use a specific coaching technique so that you can quickly uncover the next step that will help your most pressing need and then go do it.
This unhurried focus often generates interesting results quicker than people expect.
The only way you’ll really know if 20 minutes is enough is if you come and try it, (and you can always book another slot if you need!)

Who is the coach?
My name is Brian and you can connect with me on LinkedIn here
I like learning, improving things and generating ideas
I enjoy family, travelling, sports and exploring
I get a lot of joy from helping people think clearly, be confident and achieve their goals
What happens in the session?
Someone to listen? Someone to help you find your best action? Someone to provide feedback? Someone to give you advice? Someone to challenge your thinking? Someone to help you complete a task?)
Based on your answers I will facilitate the discussion to help you think, and move towards your goal – in the way that you need and in the style that suits you.
Note: Coaching is NOT counselling. The client understands and agrees that they are fully responsible for their physical, mental and emotional well-being, decisions, choices, actions and any results.
How can a coach help if they don't know my industry?
That’s the point!
People you already know in your industry and peer group are great for advice and learning from. You should definitely talk to them! (this is mentoring)
But it is likely that the majority of your colleagues will think in similar patterns and make similar assumptions of what is normal.
Only you are the expert in your life and circumstances!
A good coach won’t tell you what to do, rather they can guide you to generate insights and options that are otherwise out of your reach.
Perhaps a fresh set of ears and perspective may be just what you need?
What sort of things can you provide mentoring for?
Mentoring is about helping someone based on your experience or skillset. I have 20+years experience working in IT and outside of IT in a range of roles and end-customer domains.
I’ve helped; managers, developers, architects, directors, agile coaches, testers, product owners, CEOs, graduates, accountants, entrepreneurs, site leads, SMEs, engineers, actuaries, production supervisors, project managers, and others achieve all sort of goals from; paying off mortgages, to getting promotions, to solving delivery issues, to winning business, to hiring staff, to optimising processes, to winning funding, to more effective meetings, to dealing with boardroom politics and more
- Leadership – helping organisations to develop their leadership capability and structure their operations to maximise their portfolios
- Product – helping start-ups to global corporations discover how best to solve their customers needs with the best possible solution
- Teams – helping teams and organisation learn and optimise their effectiveness and move towards high performance.
- Individuals – helping people understand themselves and their strengths so that they can achieve their potential
Maybe now is the time to ask that question that has been bothering you?
How is bitesize coaching different from executive coaching or career coaching?
Usually companies only pay for executive coaching for their senior leaders
Executive Coaching is for senior leaders with significant, complex responsibilities. I provide a bespoke way to help you inspect any goal or dilemma and quickly adapt to achieve the best possible solution.
Career Coaching is for individuals with career ambitions they still want to achieve. I help individuals gain more clarity on what their career goals are and how they could position themselves to achieve those goals.
Bitesize Coaching is for anyone who wants to get one thing sorted quickly. It’s about breaking down the barriers that stop people coming for help so that coaching can be accessible to all
- “I’m unsure about coaching” – so bitesize it! Come along and try it, what is the worst that could happen?
- “I’m too busy” – so bitesize it! Bring one thing, find your next step and move on
- “It’s too expensive” – so bitesize it! Focused, professional coaching, for the price of a trip to the coffee shop.
Why are you offering bitesize coaching?
Over the years I’ve been struck by the volume of people I meet who wistfully say that they would love coaching or that they would love someone to help them sort their thoughts, and yet something seems to stop them taking that step and working with a coach.
I’m also struck by how people seem more comfortable asking for coaching if they can buy me coffee and lunch in return.
I know how effective coaching can be and I want everyone to get a chance to experience this so I have decided to make coaching accessible to all.
Let’s see if more people, can be more happy, more of the time!
